Is Whenther free? Are there paid features?
Whenther's basic service is completely free. You can use core features like checking weather information, AI outfit recommendations, basic notifications, and viewing OOTD feed for free. We're considering introducing a premium subscription service with additional features: - Ad removal - Advanced personalized outfit recommendations - Detailed weather analysis reports - Unlimited OOTD storage - Premium style filters Even if premium service launches, all current free features will remain available. Whenther will continue providing free basic features so anyone can easily find weather-appropriate styles. For pricing and payment inquiries, please contact customer service.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
If you found a bug, please report it through 'Settings > Help Center > Report Bug' in the app. Including the following information helps resolve issues faster: 1) Screenshot of the bug 2) Description of the situation (what action triggered it) 3) Device information (smartphone model, OS version) 4) App version (check in Settings > App Info) 5) Whether the bug is reproducible App logs are automatically attached when reporting bugs to help with analysis. Don't worry, no personal information is included. Reported bugs are fixed in order of priority, and you'll be notified via email or push notification when fixed. Thank you for your valuable feedback!
How do I use the OOTD sharing feature?
The OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) sharing feature lets you share your daily outfit with other users and receive feedback. How to upload OOTD: 1) Tap the '+' button in the bottom menu 2) Take a photo of your outfit or select from gallery 3) Add location tag (optional) and brief description 4) Tag item information (brand, item type, etc.) 5) Tap 'Share' to upload Uploaded OOTDs may be shown as references to other users under similar weather conditions. You can choose visibility in privacy settings: 'Public', 'Followers Only', or 'Private'. Get style inspiration by liking and commenting on other users' OOTDs!
What types of notifications can I receive from Whenther?
Whenther provides various weather notifications useful for daily life. All notifications can be individually turned on or off. Main notification types: 1) Morning Weather Briefing: Daily weather summary and outfit recommendation at set time (default 7 AM) 2) Umbrella Alert: Notification 30 minutes before going out when precipitation probability is 40%+ 3) Air Quality Alert: Mask wearing notification when air quality is 'Unhealthy' or worse 4) Temperature Change Alert: When 10°C+ change is expected compared to previous day 5) UV Warning: Sun protection notification when UV index is 'High' or above 6) Evening Tomorrow Weather: Tomorrow's weather preview and outfit preparation guide 7) Weather Advisories: Immediate notification when KMA issues advisories for heat waves, cold waves, typhoons, etc.
How does the AI outfit recommendation work?
Whenther's AI outfit recommendation is based on machine learning algorithms combining weather data with fashion expert knowledge. It comprehensively analyzes various weather elements including temperature, feels-like temperature, humidity, precipitation probability, UV index, and air quality. The recommendation algorithm learns from a 'weather-clothing matching database' built by fashion experts to suggest optimized clothing combinations for each weather condition. It also provides style recommendations considering seasonal trends and TPO (Time, Place, Occasion). As app usage increases, the system learns personal style preferences and feedback for more personalized recommendations. Giving 'like' or 'dislike' feedback improves recommendation accuracy.
Where does the weather data come from?
Whenther's weather data is provided through the official API of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). KMA collects data from over 600 observation stations nationwide to provide the most accurate domestic weather information. You can check detailed weather information through ultra-short-term forecasts (hourly), short-term forecasts (3 days), and medium-term forecasts (10 days). Air quality information utilizes real-time data from Korea Environment Corporation's AirKorea. International weather information is provided using APIs from global weather data providers like OpenWeatherMap. Whenther strives to provide the most accurate and reliable weather information by combining multiple data sources.
How do I sign up for Whenther?
You can currently use Whenther service through our website without any registration, and check weather information and outfit recommendations right away. In our upcoming mobile app, you'll be able to sign up easily using email or social accounts (Kakao, Naver, Google, Apple). Using social login allows you to complete registration quickly without setting a separate password. After signing up, you can enjoy various premium features such as personalized weather alerts, AI outfit recommendation history, and OOTD sharing. Our current web service also provides some personalization features based on cookies, so feel free to use them.
날씨 정보는 얼마나 자주 업데이트되나요?
기상청 API를 통해 1시간마다 자동 업데이트됩니다. 실시간 기온과 강수 정보는 매시간 갱신되며, 주간 예보는 하루 2회(오전 6시, 오후 6시) 업데이트됩니다.
Are there ads in the app?
Whenther currently maintains its free service through minimal advertising. Ads are displayed in forms that minimally disrupt user experience. Current ad types: - Native ads in feed (similar appearance to regular content) - Occasional interstitial ads during page transitions - Bottom banner ads (some pages) Advertising principles: - Ads don't influence outfit recommendation results - Ads are minimized on weather information screens - User data is not provided to advertisers - Targeted ad preferences can be adjusted in settings Ad-free usage will become available with future premium subscription service. How do I follow other users?
Following users with styles you like lets you see their OOTDs directly in your feed. How to follow: 1) Tap the profile picture or nickname on a post you like in the OOTD feed 2) Go to that user's profile page 3) Tap the 'Follow' button When followed users post new OOTDs, they appear at the top of your feed, and you can receive push notifications if enabled. For private accounts, you need to send a follow request and get approval. 'Recommended Follows' suggests users with similar style preferences or popular stylists. Follow various users to get style inspiration!
I'm not receiving notifications. How do I fix this?
If you're not receiving notifications, please check the following in order: 1) Device Settings: Go to 'Settings > Notifications > Whenther' and make sure notifications are allowed. On iOS, enable 'Banners', 'Lock Screen', and 'Sounds'. 2) App Settings: Check that desired notifications are turned on in Whenther app's 'Settings > Notifications'. 3) Battery Optimization: For Android, go to 'Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization' and set Whenther to 'Not Optimized'. Battery saver mode can block notifications. 4) Do Not Disturb: Check if your device's Do Not Disturb/Silent mode is active. 5) Network: Unstable internet connection can delay notifications. If these steps don't resolve the issue, try reinstalling the app or contact customer service.
What is feels-like temperature and why is it important?
Feels-like temperature quantifies the temperature the human body actually feels by reflecting wind speed, humidity, and solar radiation along with actual temperature. The same 20°C feels colder with strong wind and hotter with high humidity. Whenther calculates feels-like temperature using Wind Chill in winter and Heat Index in summer. Wind Chill applies when temperature is below 10°C with wind speed above 4.8km/h, while Heat Index is calculated reflecting humidity when temperature is above 26°C. Outfit recommendations are based on feels-like temperature rather than actual temperature. If it's 10°C but feels like 5°C due to strong wind, recommending warmer clothes is more practical.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
If you've forgotten your password, click the 'Forgot Password' button on the login page. Enter the email address you registered with, and a password reset link will be sent to you. If you don't receive the email, please check your spam folder. If you still haven't received it, please verify that the email address you entered matches the one you registered with. If you signed up with social login (Kakao, Naver, Google, Apple), you can log in directly with that social account without a separate password. For security purposes, the password reset link is valid for 24 hours only. If it has expired, please request a new password reset. Contact our customer service if you need additional help.

How do I report inappropriate content or users?
You can report inappropriate content or users to maintain a healthy community environment. How to report: 1) Tap the '...' menu at the top right of the post or profile 2) Select 'Report' 3) Choose the reason (spam, offensive content, harassment, copyright infringement, etc.) 4) Add detailed explanation if needed and tap 'Submit Report' All reports are processed anonymously, and reporter information is not disclosed to the reported party. The operations team reviews reports within 24 hours and takes action including content removal or account sanctions for guideline violations. If you don't want to see content from a specific user, use the 'Block' feature. Blocked users cannot see your profile and posts.
I want to change notification times.
Notification times can be changed in 'Settings > Notifications > Notification Time Settings'. Individual time settings are possible for each notification type. For morning briefing notifications, you can set different times for weekdays and weekends. For example, 6:30 AM on weekdays to match your commute preparation time, and 9 AM on weekends. Enabling 'Nighttime Do Not Disturb' blocks all notifications except urgent weather advisories during set hours (e.g., 10 PM to 7 AM). Location-based notifications (umbrella alerts, etc.) are sent based on expected departure time. Setting your commute times allows you to receive more accurate notifications.
How can I get personalized outfit recommendations?
To receive personalized outfit recommendations, first sign up and set up your basic information in 'My Profile'. Enter your gender, age range, preferred style (casual/formal/sporty, etc.), favorite colors, and sensitivity to heat/cold. Giving 'like' or 'dislike' feedback on recommendations helps the AI learn your taste. The longer you use the service, the more feedback data accumulates for more accurate personalized recommendations. The 'My Closet' feature (coming soon) will allow you to register your actual clothing and receive outfit recommendations using those items.
How accurate is the weather forecast?
According to KMA statistics, weather forecast accuracy varies by forecast period. Same-day forecasts show high accuracy of about 90% or more, tomorrow's forecast is 85-90%, and 2-3 day forecasts are around 80-85%. Medium-term forecasts (5+ days) show about 70-75% accuracy. This is because uncertainty increases as the forecast period lengthens due to the nature of weather phenomena. During monsoon season, typhoon season, or sudden temperature changes, forecasts may be revised more frequently. We recommend checking the app once more before important schedules. Precipitation forecasts tend to be more accurate than temperature forecasts.
How do I delete my account?
If you wish to delete your account, you can do so through 'Settings > Account Management > Delete Account' in the app or website. You'll need to verify your identity by entering your password or authenticating with your social account. Upon deletion, all personal information, saved outfit history, OOTD posts, and notification settings will be permanently deleted. Deleted data cannot be recovered, so please make your decision carefully. Some information may be retained for a certain period in accordance with legal requirements. You can re-register with the same email or social account after deletion. However, previous data will not be restored, and you'll start with a new account.

What if I don't like the outfit recommendation?
If you don't like the recommendation, tap 'See Other Styles' to get alternative suggestions. We prepare multiple style options for each weather condition so you can find outfits that match your taste. Also, pressing the 'Dislike' feedback button excludes that style from future recommendations or reduces its frequency. Selecting specific reasons (color/style/item) enables more accurate learning. You can also use style filters to receive recommendations only for your preferred mood (casual/formal/minimal, etc.). If you have suggestions for improving recommendations, please share them through the 'Feedback' menu anytime.
What are the air quality rating criteria?
Air quality ratings are divided into 4 levels based on PM10 (fine dust) and PM2.5 (ultrafine dust) concentrations according to Ministry of Environment standards. PM10: Good (0-30㎍/㎥), Moderate (31-80㎍/㎥), Unhealthy (81-150㎍/㎥), Very Unhealthy (151㎍/㎥+) PM2.5: Good (0-15㎍/㎥), Moderate (16-35㎍/㎥), Unhealthy (36-75㎍/㎥), Very Unhealthy (76㎍/㎥+) The worse of the two values is displayed as the air quality level. Masks are recommended from 'Unhealthy' level, and outdoor activities should be avoided at 'Very Unhealthy' level.
How is my personal information managed?
Whenther safely manages user personal information in compliance with privacy protection laws. The information collected is limited to the minimum necessary for service provision (email, location information, etc.). All data is encrypted and stored with security systems in place to prevent external leakage. Location information is used only for weather services and is not provided to third parties without separate consent. You can view our detailed privacy policy on the 'Privacy Policy' page. Using Whenther's 'Weekly Forecast' feature, you can check a week's weather along with expected outfit suggestions in advance. This helps you prepare clothes ahead of weekend outings or important schedules. The 'Guide' section provides detailed seasonal essential items and styling tips. We offer practical information like transitional layering methods, choosing cool fabrics for summer, and balancing warmth and style in winter. You can also set 'Season Change Alerts' before seasons change to receive item checklists for the new season along with closet organization tips.
How do I check and interpret the UV index?
The UV Index is an indicator showing the impact of solar UV radiation on skin, ranging from 0 to 11+. The Whenther app provides hourly UV index along with safe exposure time by skin type. Index meanings: 0-2 (Low): Safe without sunscreen, 3-5 (Moderate): SPF30+ sunscreen recommended, 6-7 (High): Sunscreen essential, wear hat/sunglasses, 8-10 (Very High): Avoid midday sun, 11+ (Extreme): Avoid outdoor activities. UV index varies depending on clouds, altitude, and ozone layer status. UV can be higher than expected on cloudy days as clouds scatter UV rays. Extra caution is needed at ski resorts or beaches where snow, water, and sand reflect UV rays.
How do I change notification settings?
Notification settings can be adjusted in detail through 'Settings > Notifications' in the app or website. You can turn each notification type on or off and set notification times. Available notifications include: Morning weather briefing (today's weather and outfit recommendation before work), Umbrella alert (notification before going out when rain/snow is forecast), Air quality alert (when air quality is poor or worse), Temperature change alert (when there's a 10+ degree change from previous day), UV warning (when UV index is high). Notification times can be set separately for weekdays/weekends, and you can also set quiet hours. If you're not receiving push notifications, please also check your device's notification permission settings.
체감온도는 어떻게 계산되나요?
체감온도는 실제 기온에 풍속과 습도를 반영하여 계산됩니다. 여름철(기온 26°C 이상)에는 열지수(Heat Index)를, 겨울철(기온 10°C 이하, 풍속 4.8km/h 이상)에는 풍속냉각지수(Wind Chill)를 적용합니다.

강수확률 50%는 무슨 의미인가요?
강수확률 50%는 해당 지역에서 비나 눈이 올 확률이 50%라는 의미입니다. 과거 동일한 기상 조건에서 100번 중 50번 정도 강수가 있었다는 통계적 의미입니다. 우산을 챙기시는 것을 권장합니다.
자외선 지수는 어떻게 해석하나요?
자외선 지수는 0-11+ 범위로 표시됩니다. 0-2(낮음): 보호 필요 없음, 3-5(보통): 모자/선글라스 권장, 6-7(높음): 자외선 차단제 필수, 8-10(매우 높음): 외출 자제 권장, 11+(위험): 야외활동 피하기를 권장합니다.
